History part two

I have heard stories from my forefathers, who were also servants in the palace of Pharaoh many years ago, about a young Israelite that had started off as a servant and eventually became second only to Pharaoh himself. I was told that this man, whose name was Joseph, was sold into slavery by his own brothers and was brought to Egypt by the slave-traders. Once bought, he was falsely accused of sexual assault by the wife of his owner after she made advances to him. He was imprisoned for this. I heard that while he was in prison, Joseph proved that he could interpret dreams, to which he gave credit to his God. He was summoned to interpret one of Pharaoh’s dreams, and when he did so, he predicted this famine. Pharaoh then put him in charge the storage of all of the grain in preparation for the famine and made him second only to himself. During the famine Joseph’s father, Jacob, ended up coming to Egypt with his family. They are now referred to as the Israelites because, as I have heard, their God changed Jacob’s name to Israel.
